现在国际乒乓球大赛中,单打比赛采用的是七局四胜制,每局11分,谁先赢下四局,谁就赢得比赛。在一局中,双方轮换发球,每人发2分,谁先得11分谁就赢得一局。

但是如果两人比分打到10:10,则轮换发球改为每人发1分,比分先超出对方2分的则赢得该局比赛。如果在一局比赛中,比赛时间超过10分钟,则整个比赛改用轮换发球法,每人发1球,依次交换。
